The Companies House advanced search.
The register has a search that nobody links to from its front page. Go to find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/advanced-search, set an incorporation date range, and you have every company registered in that window, newest first. You can narrow it by SIC code (the trade a company says it is in), by company name, and by the location typed into the registered address. It is free, it is live to the day, and it exports nothing: you read it on screen, a page at a time.
Two things to know before you trust it. The location field matches free text, so "Luton" finds anything with Luton in the address, including companies registered at a formation agent that happens to be there. And the newest companies are the emptiest: no accounts, no website yet, often a director's home or an accountant as the address.
The free monthly file.
Once a month Companies House publishes the whole register as one download at download.companieshouse.gov.uk. The 1 September 2026 file holds 5,689,368 companies with their name, number, registered address, incorporation date, status and up to four SIC codes. It is published under the Open Government Licence, so you can use it for anything, including selling to the companies in it.
It is also 2.6 gigabytes of CSV, and it carries no contact details of any kind. If you can open a file that size and filter it by date and SIC code, you have the same raw material this site is built from. Every number on this site comes from that file and nothing else; the method page says exactly what was done to it.
Already done, by town and by trade.
That is what this site is. The monthly file, read once, sorted into 39 trades and 1,500 towns, with every company named on 3,083 trade-and-town pages and the newest fifty on every town and trade page. Formation-agent addresses are taken out, so a town's count is companies that are actually there. 515,810 companies over the last twelve months, all free, no account.
The API, if you want it live.
Companies House also runs a free REST API with the same advanced search behind it, at 600 requests per five minutes with a key, and a streaming API that pushes each new registration as it happens. Both need an account at developer.company-information.service.gov.uk. If "newly registered" for you means this morning rather than this month, that is the route; the monthly file is always up to a month behind it.
A way to reach any of them.
The register carries a company's name, number, date, address and what it says it does. It carries no email address, no phone number and no website. The registered address is often an accountant or a formation agent rather than anywhere the business trades. So a list of newly registered companies, from any of the routes above, is a list of names you still have to find a door for.
That is the part sold here. The names stay free on every page. What costs money is the work of finding a verified email address for the companies that can actually be reached, and leaving out the ones that cannot rather than padding the list.

Every record carries the company's name, number, registered address, directors, website and an email address we checked as deliverable and tied to that company. Companies we could not verify are left out, not padded in, and you are not charged for them.
